Roles
Give the AI a character, and it answers like a legal advisor, a tutor or Sherlock Holmes.
15 ready-made roles: helpers that get work done and characters to talk to. Or your own, with a name, personality, greeting, portrait and model. Each role lives in its own chat.

A companion that speaks first
Pick one or create your own
Take a ready-made role — a legal advisor, a tutor, Socrates — or describe your own from scratch. One of ours almost fits? Copy it and tweak it.
Give it a character and a model
The instructions tell the AI who it is, how it talks and what it won't do. The model is the AI the role answers on: any model from the chat, or Max AI, which picks one for you.
Start talking
The role speaks first: its greeting opens the chat and sets the tone. A chat started with a role keeps it — come back a week later and you're talking to the same character.
Sherlock HolmesThe great detective of Baker Street: deduction, riddles and witThis is a role: the AI is playing a character. Double-check important facts.Helpers
They do a specific job: go through a contract, translate, help you practise a language, write copy, run a mock job interview.

Legal Advisor
Breaks down your situation, points to the law and drafts the letter
Hello! I'm a legal consultant. Tell me what happened: when it took place, who the other party is, what documents you have — and which country this is in. We'll work out a plan together.

Translator
Translates meaning and tone, not just words — just send the text
Send me any text and I'll translate it. Tell me which language you need, or I'll go with English by default.

Language Tutor
Real conversation practice with gentle corrections
Hi there! 👋 I'm your language tutor. Which language would you like to practise, and why — travel, work, an exam? Write a couple of sentences and we'll find your level and start talking!

Copywriter
Sales copy, posts, newsletters and headlines without clichés
Hi! I'm your copywriter. What are we writing today — a post, a newsletter, landing page copy or a product description? Tell me about the product and who it's for.

Mock Interviewer
A practice job interview with feedback on every answer
Good afternoon, please have a seat. Before we begin: which role are you applying for, and at what kind of company? And how senior is the position?

Kind Listener
Listens without judgement and helps you make sense of your feelings
Hi. I'm here to listen — no rush, no judgement. How are you right now? Tell me what's on your mind.

Tutor
Explains school and university subjects until they click
Hi! I'm your tutor. Which subject or topic is giving you the most trouble right now? Send me a problem and we'll work through it together, step by step.
Characters
Fun to talk to: crack a mystery with Sherlock, set sail with a pirate, argue with Socrates or get some advice from Grandma.

Sherlock Holmes
The great detective of Baker Street: deduction, riddles and wit
Ah, come in, come in. From the way you began, I deduce you have a puzzle that will not leave you in peace. Take the armchair by the fire and lay out the facts. All of them — even the ones you think trivial.

Captain Barracuda
Terror of the Caribbean: tall tales, treasure and adventure
Blow me down, a new hand aboard the Black Gull! Name yourself, landlubber, and tell me what brings you — gold, glory, or are you running from someone? And don't lie to your captain: the sea can smell a lie.

Master Eldrin
A grumpy wizard of the Tower of Mists and a wise mentor
Oh, the stairs are creaking again… So another seeker of wisdom has made it to the Tower of Mists. Well, come in, don't stand in the draught — Wormwood hates it. What brings you here, young apprentice?

AURA
Onboard AI of the starship Horizon — a space adventure
Wake-up protocol complete. Good morning, crew member. You have been in cryosleep for 3 years, 2 months and 11 days. Oxygen levels nominal. One piece of news: an hour ago we picked up a signal of unknown origin. How are you feeling?

Count Valerian
An aristocratic vampire with four centuries of wit and history
Good evening. Please, come in — the doors of this castle open rarely. Fear not: I have long preferred conversation to supper. Sit by the fire and tell me what brings you here at so late an hour… or perhaps so late a century?

Socrates
The Athenian philosopher who leads you to the truth through questions
Greetings, friend! I am Socrates, and I know only that I know nothing. But perhaps the two of us together might understand something. Tell me, what have you been thinking about lately — something that seems true to you, yet leaves a doubt?

Sergeant Stone
A tough coach for fitness, routine and productivity — no excuses
ATTENTION! Sergeant Stone reporting. Stow those lazy sighs! Report: what's the goal? Fitness, routine, study, a project — spit it out. And fair warning: excuses are not accepted here.

Grandma Rose
A warm, wise grandma who listens, comforts and gives advice
Oh, there's my sweetheart! Come in, sit down, I've just taken a pie out of the oven. Now tell me, how are you? Are you eating properly? You look a little tired…
Build your own companion
Six fields, and the AI has a character. Write the instructions in plain words: who it is, how it talks, what it can do and what it won't. Leave the greeting empty and you write first.
A portrait from the description
“Generate” draws a photo portrait from the role’s name, description and instructions. Up to 20 portraits a day, included with your subscription. Or upload your own photo.
Its own model for every role
One AI for the legal advisor, another for the pirate. A role answers on its own model in every new chat, and you can switch models inside the chat.
Start from a ready-made one
Like Sherlock but want him on your work “cases”? Copy the role and rewrite the instructions.

What is a role?
A character or an expert the AI answers as. A role has a name, a short description, instructions on who it is and how it behaves, a greeting, a portrait and its own model. A role is playing a part, so double-check important facts.
How is it different from a regular chat?
In a regular chat you start every time with "pretend you're a lawyer…". A role remembers that for you: the instructions apply from the first message, the greeting sets the tone, and a chat started with a role stays with it.
Which model should I choose?
Ready-made roles use Max AI, which picks a model for each question on its own — a good place to start. You can give your own role any model from the chat, for example the one whose style you like best. You can also switch models right in the chat.
Can I change a ready-made role?
Yes: every ready-made role has a "Make my own based on this" button. You get a copy and can change its name, personality, greeting, portrait and model.
Who can use roles?
Anyone can browse the roles. Starting a chat with a role or creating your own takes an active ChatPlus subscription.
